A high school diploma or equivalency can open the door to better career opportunities, earn you higher pay, and get you on track to begin a training program or qualify for college enrollment. Los Angeles Unified Adult Education can help you gain your high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate in as little time as possible. Our campuses will work with you in creating a plan that fits your lifestyle and schedule while ensuring that you get credit for any classes you may have previously taken. And, best of all, our classes are tuition-free!
Available Programs
We offer two programs for earning a high school diploma or high school equivalency.
- Accelerated College and Career Transition Program (AC2T)
For young adults between the ages of 16-24 who have dropped out of high school.
High school diploma and high school equivalency certificate options available.
- Adult High School Diploma Program
For students 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma and high school equivalency certificate options available.
Accelerated College and Career Transition Program (AC2T)
AC2T is a tuition-free program designed for at-promise youth and young adults between the ages of 16-24 who have dropped out of high school. It is a blended-learning program incorporating independent study, individualized instruction, and technology for students looking to become college-prepared and career ready. With AC2T students earn their high school diploma or equivalency certificate while training for a career.
AC2T offers flexible scheduling and courses are A-G approved, as required for admissions to the California State University and University of California college education systems. Enrollment is taken throughout the year, pending available space.

High School Equivalency Test (HiSet)
The HiSET is a California State Board of Education approved test that is used to earn a California High School Equivalency Certificate. The exam is available to take in English or Spanish. Los Angeles Unified Adult Education offers free courses and trainings to prepare you to take the HiSET exam which covers math, reading, writing, science and social studies in a multiple-choice format.
